For parents and children alike, life is busy and time is limited. There are things to do, places to be, shuffling the kids to and from multiple activities.

There's an interest in your household to explore making music. You played guitar in high school and would like to start playing again. Your children are expressing interest in learning an instrument but the idea becomes another place to drop them off and pick them up. There is a way to take music lessons without the hassle, without the round trip.

Let the lessons come to you!

Learning in your home has many benefits:

My unique teaching approach does not use generic beginner materials but instead uses the music and songs that interest you. Together we’ll create a custom program tailored specifically to your musical interests and goals.

All music is created from the same chords and scales, so why not start with your favorites instead of boring exercises?

We will utilize technology with custom worksheets and other teaching aids available to the student via the web.

Instead of memorizing we look at how scales and chords are created so the student is able to build them on their own. This process helps in understanding the information for better recall and application of the material.

The beginning is the toughest part of the process: Getting past the hard stuff to get to the fun stuff. The goal is to learn a few key concepts of technique and theory that can then be applied almost immediately to start making music.

The process of Internet or Youtube learning can often be detrimental by using unconventional technique or learning a song incorrectly. Professionally supervised learning allows the student to grow and explore while giving them a structured environment to keep their learning on track.

Making the time to practice is important – knowing what and how to practice is essential. Structured and focused practice every day is the key to learning and playing any instrument.

The combination of a 60 minute lesson and as little as 15 minutes per day will provide tangible and measurable results. The lesson becomes a blend of learning, demonstration, practice, discussion and most of all fun. This approach is effective with students of all ages.
